STANDARD TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Thank you for your enquiry. We look forward to sharing our Conference and retreat centres with you.  We hope to host you with care and efficiency and build a long term relationship with you. Please read through this document carefully. 

RESERVATIONS. On your request for a booking via email, a PROVISIONAL INVOICE will be sent to you, with this document.  On acceptance, an INVOICE is sent to you, and a 50% deposit is payable immediately. This deposit is non-refundable and is for the numbers you have booked, not the final number who arrive. Payment of the deposit constitutes your acceptance of the Terms and Conditions in this document.   The balance must be paid a month before your booking.

VISUAL AIDS: these must be displayed on boards or flipcharts, and no Prestik, glue or tape may be used on any walls. Stationery including paper and pens must be provided by the client.  Any movement of furniture must be requested of the director or manager.

WiFi.  Please arrange your own wifi if possible.  Under exceptional circumstances, wifi can be accessed, but the client will be billed on commercial rates.

DAMAGE TO PROPERTY. Should there be any items stolen, damage to property, or breakages, the client will be billed accordingly.

The premises are ALCOHOL AND GUN FREE.  Any exceptions must be discussed with the director.

Persons entering the premises do so entirely at their own risk and the owners, managers, and representatives accept no liability or responsibility for death, injury or harm to any persons whether arising from negligence, or any cause whatsoever.

GENERAL INFORMATION

ACCOMMODATION is comfortable: linen, soap and towels are provided.

ST BENEDICT’S RETREAT HOUSE

This seventy-year old Retreat Centre is for those who wish to pray and be quiet. Rooms look on to an enclosed courtyard and there is a large garden containing a labyrinth for prayer walks. By arrangement and depending on the core business of the group, arrangements can be made for meetings: a lounge seating 30 in comfortable chairs; or with tables (conference style) for 30; or lecture room style for 40. It has three libraries, a chapel, and a large dining room. Parking is secure – the venues are separated by a closed-off street, with entrance through a guarded boom gate.

St Benedict’s main house has single accommodation.  There is one self-contained flat (Sisters’ Wing) with 2 double rooms, sleeping 9 in total. The Convent has 5 en-suite rooms.  Total sleeping capacity: 32.

 ST PETER’S PLACE

This 120 year old centre is equipped for meetings and conferences: the rooms surround an enclosed courtyard. The conference room is equipped with flip charts and a data projector, seating 70 in cinema style or 40 with tables; the chapel seats a maximum of 60; a lecture room seating 30 at tables or 40 cinema style. The conference and lecture rooms have display space.  The library is a quiet place for individuals or a small group.  

St Peter’s has options of single, double or triple occupancy. There is one en-suite flat sleeping 6, sharing.  The West Wing has 2 en-suite rooms and one semi en-suite. Total sleeping capacity: 73. Additionally, Priory Cottage, sleeps 9 and is self-contained with a private garden. 

MEALS: Breakfast is cereals, porridge and eggs; lunch is the main meal: fish/ beef/ chicken with vegetables and a pudding; suppers are meat-free and lighter, with fruit.   Any other requests, like a braai, or other additions should be requested for costing, on booking.  Unusual dietary requirements should be arranged but in special cases we might ask you to bring your supplements (a fridge and microwave are available on request). Tea stations are open at all times, and there is a fridge on the stoeps for cold water.
